Loewe’s New Limited Edition Bag Supports Elephant Conservation
Model and Knot On My Planet global ambassador, Doutzen Kroes, features in the campaign
The Elephant Crisis Fund estimates that between 20 and 30 percent of the world’s elephant population has been lost due to poaching since 2009. In support of the project’s work to preserve the project’s Knot On My Planet campaign to save the elephants, Loewe has launched a limited edition range of Tan Elephant Mini Bags, featuring beadwork by Samburu women from Northern Kenya.
The campaign, which features Knot on My Planet’s global ambassador, supermodel Doutzen Kroes, supports the Elephant Watch Camp in Kenya.
Speaking about the project, Kroes said: “My favourite thing about elephants is that I can look at them for hours, I spend many hours with my kids, with my children, where I actually noticed my four old son then would sit there for two hours fascinated. And I think it’s because they have a similar emotions to us and it’s almost like looking at another family”.
The Samburu people who made the beadwork for the limited edition bags have a special relationship with the elephants, working closely with conservation charities in order to protect them.
Models and celebrities are already showing their support, with the likes of Behati Prinsloo, and Gisele Bündchen posting pictures of their Elephant Mini Bags on Instagram.
The bags are now available on loewe.com and at Bergdorf Goodman.
