Hermes’ Brand New Summer Scent Was Inspired By The Garden Of Eden

The secret sweetness of a dream garden is what Hermes is hoping to achieve with its latest scent, Un Jardin Sur La Lagune.
This, the fifth release of the Le Jardins Garden-Fragrances collection, expresses a dreamlike dimension and tells the story of an Englishman mad about gardens and Venice, a man who was so tired of seeing nothing but water expressed his desire for a garden in the heart of Venice. This desire was so strong that the Garden of Eden was built and it was full of delightful scents.
So taken by this tale Un Jardin Sur La Lagune by Christine Nagel brings together the sweet and pregnant scents of nostalgia without sadness, of rebirth, a feeling of eternity – a blend of sky, flowers and the sea.
Before developing the scent Nagel stumbled upon the tale of Frederic Eden’s Garden of Eden – a story of enchantment and creation; the pure evocations of a narrative filled with sumptuous secrets as intense and strong as the plants that grew there, which had little soil but a lot of sky to breathe.
Un Jardin Sur La Lagunen has airy floral notes and an evocation of magnolias, pittosporums and Madonna lilies, the woods, roots, flowers and earth swept by sea winds.
The Garden-Fragrances collection was initiated by Jean-Claude Ellena in 2003 and includes Un Jardin en Mediterranee (2003), Un Jardin sur le Nil (2005), Un Jardin apres la Mousson (2008), Un Jardin sur le Toit (2005), Le Jardin de Monsieur Li (2015) and Un Jardin sur la Lagune (2018).
