Hermès Is Releasing Its Own Beauty Line
And it’s eco-friendly!
Luxury French brand, Hermès, is launching Hermès Beauty – an exclusive line that as far as we know, will be dedicated to make-up.
According to Wall Street Journal, Hermès Beauty’s first collection will be Rouge Hermès, an array of 24 lipstick shades inspired by the brand’s iconic creations and will be available next March in the US and UK – for the moment – in matte and silk finishes and lightly custom-scented by the brand’s perfumer, Christine Nagel.
Each lipstick has been chosen from the brand’s archive of over 900 leather shades and 75,000 silk swatches to pay homage to Hermès’ incredible heritage: their fabulous silk scarves, and their iconic Birkin bag.
The texture of their matte shades is inspired by the softness of their signature Birkin bag’s leather, while the satin shades resemble the silkiness of their classic scarves.
As for the packaging, the brand has opted to do their part for the environment’s wellbeing. Each shade will come in a tri-coloured sustainable plastic-free case made from the same metal the house uses in its other products. But there’s more… they’re refillable, so once you purchase one you can refill it. The perfect keepsake.
At the moment, Rouge Hermès is the only collection from the brand’s beauty line that has an official release date. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, Hermès is also planning on releasing “foundations and eye and cheek colours” in the near future. Will skincare come next?
For now, all that’s left for us to do is wait until March to get our hands on the lipsticks – which are sure to be magnificent – and wonder what the beauty line will be launching after. We don’t know about you, but we are super excited!
