2018 is going to be all about smudged roots
Everyone whose gorgeous blonde locks come courtesy of their hairdresser knows the struggle – the creamy golden hues look freshly done for 3 weeks and then roots start to creep in.
Well, we’ve got great news for you, because it turns out that its all about the smudged root in 2018.
“When it comes to colour, blonde hair with smudged darker roots like Selena Gomez has been wearing is very in,” says Ruksher Malik, co-founder of Pastels Salon. “This is great news, as it is not as high maintenance as other blondes that have been in fashion in the past.”
Towards the end of 2017 we saw a few big stars go to the blonde side, including Selena Gomez who debuted her cropped bleach bob at the 2017 American Music Awards. According to reports it took her stylist over nine hours to achieve the new hue.
Emilia Clarke also reached for the bleach and chopped off her mid-length hair.
And she hasn’t been shy about showing off her roots.
According to Ruksher, Selena and Emilia’s cuts are also in fashion. “Structured hair such as bobs with bangs is also going to be extremely popular,” she says. “Textured hair is in fashion, with natural curls and big bouncy blowdries having a real fashion moment again.”
