Huda Kattan has been creating & distributing some of the most impressive makeup products in the beauty industry at the moment. Her Huda Beauty business has taken off ever since it's first false-lashes launch in Dubai, 2011. Now her portfolio goes far beyond just lashes. From eyeliner, to liquid lipsticks and even body makeup - the Iraqi-American mogul has built this cosmetics line from the ground up. And the best thing about it, is her products always tend to impress. Whether it's the Neon Obsessions palette or the Matte & Metal Melted Shadows, we always seem to wander to her aisle in Sephora.
Her latest product-release, the Mercury Retrogade palette has just been released today; with 18 bold shadows inspired by space and an intergalactic universe. However, the make-up that we've currently got our eyes (or should I say lips) on, are the new Power Bullet Matte Lipsticks. The businesswoman relaunched this collection not a long while ago, with new shades and a new formula, we couldn't wait to try them on.
The beauty-muse said herself: "We’ve been developing the Matte Power Bullet for over two years. In the process, we narrowed the shades down from over 100 to a select few warm and cool tones that we believe flatter every skin tone...We individually crafted the formula of each shade to ensure they all deliver the same incredible payoff, finish, and texture. The Power Bullet completely shatters the typical limitations of matte lipsticks!”
Let's put her words to the test. Scroll down to find out what BAZAAR's make-up connoisseurs said...
Why you loved it: I’m personally not someone who typically wears lipstick very often, but this product seriously just changed my mind. The colour, the texture, the packaging... pretty much everything about it is near perfection. The formula glides on seamlessly to your lips with a luscious, smooth feel, and I was surprised by how long it actually lasted. No stains for days!
Place to wear/what looks best: ‘Girls Trip’ is a really lovely, subtle, pinky nude shade that is perfect for everyday use, whether you’re going to work or out for lunch with friends. It’s not too loud, but it’s still noticeable enough to add that extra touch of elegance and femininity to your look.
How to style this lipstick: This is a really great way to add a polished, subtle finish to pretty much any casual outfit – for example, jeans and tee of your choice, maybe with some heels if you want to glam it up a bit, or with a casual blazer for a more down-to-earth work appropriate look. Make-up wise, I played around with this lipstick a lot, experimenting with different looks and colours - mainly because it’s so versatile! Here, I’ve paired it with the ‘Iguana Love You’ shade from the Unleashed palette by Tarte cosmetics.
Why you loved it: I personally loved this lipstick because of the comfortable matte formula. And that goes for the rest of the shades as well. The colour range of the entire collection is filled with must-haves.
Place to wear/what looks best: I would wear 'Game Night' during the day as it's a more darker nude, I prefer brighter shades for events at night. 'Game Night' would look great at work, at a mall and even going out for lunch. I feel like this shade is very Autumn-y, so it's perfect for this upcoming season.
How to style this lipstick: I would style a lipstick this dark with white blouses or T-shirts, so the contrast is clear. It would even look great with an LBD!
Why you loved it: I loved the lipstick because it feels really light on your lips and has a gorgeous pigment to it. It’s my go-to nude!
Place to wear/what looks best: I see myself wearing it everywhere! To the office, lunch with a friend or even a soft night out look!
How to style this lipstick: The amazing thing is that it truly goes with anything, an over-sized blazer and jeans paired with sneakers or even a dress and leather jacket. It’s extremely versatile!
Why you loved it: I loved it because it’s a warm cinnamon tone (perfect for the season right transition right now in Dubai) but with a certain subtleness to it. It offers full coverage and gives a plump look to your full lips. It also makes a good smoky eyeshadow if you are an on-the-go and need a stronger look.
Place to wear/what looks best: It’s a perfect lipstick for daily wear I’d say. It’s a great match for your minimal day to day make up looks at work.
How to style this lipstick: I would style this gorgeous lip colour with an oversized white shirt, black ripped jeans and some cute nude heels/fun sneakers.
