Saudi Make-Up Artist Aya Tariq Reveals Her Secrets For The Perfect ‘No-Make-Up’ Look
Whether you’re about to jump on a quick zoom call or just can’t be bothered to do a full face of glam, here are a few easy tricks for naturally flawless skin
Autumn has arrived and the season’s latest make up trends are all about keeping things simple, natural and youthful.
Back To Basics: Everything You Need To Know About Applying Blush

Adding some blush to the apples of your cheeks will give you a sun-kissed complexion, giving you that “I just came back from a holiday abroad” look we’re all missing.
Aya’s top tips and tricks:
1. Prep and hydrate your skin well before putting on your make-up. This way, your make up will enhance what your skin is already doing – glowing!
2. You can always add more. Apply a little blush at a time using a make-up brush or just your hands.
3. Positioning is key. Try stroking the blush a little off-centre from your cheek bones to achieve a more natural look. Also, never apply it too close to your eyes, nose or smile lines. Keep a two-finger distance from them. (Otherwise you might end up looking like you have a cold.)
Aya’s favourites:
For a fair complexion: Tenderly from Ilia, Dusk from Glossier and Contrachroma from Kosas.
For a fair to medium complexion: Nars Orgasm, Outlaw and Kosas in Velvet Melon.
For a medium to dark complexion: Peach for the Stars from Mented Cosmetics and Haze Cloud Paint from Glossier.
And finally, for a dark to deep dark complexion: Inner Glow Cream Pigments from Rituel in Lust, Nymph, and Delirium. The Milk Makeup Lip + Cheeks also has great options too!
The Go-To Fixer-Upper: How To Nail The Fluffy Eyebrow Look

Eyebrows frame your face and can be shaped and filled in to achieve a youthful look and it’s so easy to do… You can get this done in just a few minutes!
Aya’s top tips and tricks:
1. Before filling in your brows, make sure they don’t have any moisturizer or foundation on them. It will make the product melt away and could smudge — which is not the look we’re going for.
2. Comb your brows and then draw strokes in the direction of your hair. Experiment and see what products work best with your brows: brow pens, pencils, powders or even gels.
3. Remember that natural brows aren’t completely dense, you can still see skin through them so don’t overfill them or it won’t look natural.
4. When selecting the colour for your brow products, match it as best as you can to the darkest colour of your hair!

Create Mesmerizing Eyes in Minutes

Considering our new-normal includes wearing medical facemasks that cover most of our face except our eyes — it’s only fitting to focus on them with eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara. It’s the best way to look put-together, fresh and ready to conquer the day, safely.
Aya’s top tips and tricks:
1. Use an eye pencil to go along your lash line to define your eye shape.
2. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara. It helps maintain the lash-shape for longer.
3. When it comes to mascara, a little goes a long way. Dab the mascara applicator on a paper towel to reduce the amount of product on it before applying.
4. If you have an extra couple of minutes, go the extra mile! Add some fake lashes to add more volume and oomph to your look.
