Emirati Race Car Driver Hamda Al Qubaisi is Engaged

The 22-year-old race-car driver shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram over the weekend

Congratulations to Hamda Al Qubaisi and her fiancé, Saudi driver Omar Aldereyaan, on the announcement of their engagement.

The couple shared a sweet post on Instagram over the weekend showing off their rings, with a heart-warming caption titled “Engaged to my best friend.” While no details about the wedding have been revealed the couple are clearly excited to begin their lives together as husband and wife.

Hamda, who is the younger sister of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s November 2022 cover star Amna – who is, unsurprisingly, also a race-car driver –  is currently competing in the F1 Academy for MP Motorsport and has acquired many achievements during her time in the racing world, ever since 2015 when she began karting.

She made her debut in Italian F4 in the 2019 season and became the first woman in the history of Italian F4 to score a podium – which secured her third place in the race that took place at Misano. Also competing in the Formula Regional European and Asian Championships in 2022, and the F4 Saudi Arabian Championship, the Emirati driver has had an speedy start to her career so far – with many more future successes clearly in the cards.

Her fiancé, 25-year-old Saudi driver Omar Aldereyaan, has also experienced an impressive career thus far – competing in the F4 Saudi Arabian Championship this year where he took home a win. Omar’s previous achievements have included becoming the BMRC DD2 Champion in 2023 and the I’AME UAE KZ Champion in 2022.

Hamda is very close with her family, which we’re sure are delighted with the happy news. In her November 2022 cover story interview, Amna shared that the sisters bond over driving in typical sibling fashion.

“We’re very competitive with each other, from the days we did gymnastics together. But in a good way; we help each other, we don’t put each other down, we don’t try to make the other one upset – we try to make it a healthy competitive environment,” Amna she said.

Congratulations to the happy couple. Check back soon for more details.
