UAE royals Sheikha Shamma Bint Hamdan Al Maktoum and Sheikh Abdullah bin Marwan Al Qassemi wed this October in one of the most incredible ceremonies. Wedding planner Julie Droin Ziani of Julie and Romeo Wedding with the blessing of the couple exclusively reveals all the details of the big day to Bazaar.
The bride’s gown was created by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco Couture, who used gold and silver embroidery and Swarovski crystals in a Versailles-inspired Baroque pattern.
Make-up artist Angelique Turner reveals to Bazaar the products she used on Sheikha Shamma.
"For the base I used Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation mixed with CoverFX enhancer drops to give a natural radiance," Angelique tells Bazaar. "To finish the skin I used Elcie translucent powder to set it and make the look long lasting and highlighted with the Becca Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter for extra glow. I emphasized her eyes using the Dolce Vita and Supersonic Girl eyeshadow palettes from Charlotte Tilbury. They really make the eyes pop. She has naturally long lashes so I amped them up with the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara. I finished with Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme in the colour Boy Gorgeous."
The Ritz carlton DIFC hosted the 600 guest soiree.
Julie went for glamorous-chic and was inspired by Beauty and the Beast, with David Austen red roses from Holland, a gold cake and white, cream, soft gold and rich, deep reds imbuing the space.
Famed music manager Rashid AlSaeed was flown in for the weekend and Moroccan singer Rikia Magha performed a private concert for the guests.
The bride wore jaw-dropping jewels from Chopard.
Sheikha Shamma and Mohammed al Qasimi partnered exclusively with Louis Vuitton, who presented a trunk full of the French fashion house’s iconic perfumes. Each guest walked away with their own bottle of fragrance.
