This Regional Designer Glammed Up Cairo’s Latest High-Profile Wedding
Mrs Keepa gives us major bridal fashion inspo every time
Several weeks ago, entrepreneur Duha Shabib and Omar Darwish tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony at one of Cairo’s premier medieval landmarks. On the guestlist were some big regional names – we spotted model and trendsetter Salma Abu Deif in attendance.

The two got married in a civil ceremony that took place at Cairo’s Saladin Citadel, a historic site boasting awe-inspiring panoramic views of the city. The pre-wedding festivities were held at trendy The Lemon Tree & Co. Katameya restaurant. On both occasions, Shabib was dressed by her ‘all-time favourite designer’, Dubai-based label Mrs Keepa. She opted for a printed, puff-sleeved minidress for the pre-wedding celebrations, then donned a sheer, puff-sleeved gown with petal-inspired detailing and the signature Mrs Keepa belt for the big day.

Mrs Keepa was founded by Egyptian-French designer and social media style icon Mariam Yeya. After making a career change from media company executive to creative director of her own brand, her boho-chic, ‘70s-inspired pieces went on to earn her an international A-list following that includes superstar Nicole Scherzinger, whilst Yeya cites Rihanna as her own style inspiration.
