D3 Launches New Global Campaign Called Rethink The Regular
The international initiative aims to showcase design in a new light, rebuilding the creative communities after the pandemic
Aiming to promote Dubai as a global design hub, a brand-new initiative entitled Rethink the Regular has been conceptualised in Dubai Design District to rebuild the region’s design and art communities after the pandemic. To start, the campaign launched a week-long exhibition called Rethink Art on 28 March, set to run until 3 April at d3.
The initiative has been launched to nurture and stimulate the UAE’s knowledge and innovation-based economy, but also be an interactive platform for students, entrepreneurs and start-ups alike.
“Since d3 was established in 2013, it has served as the region’s go-to destination for creativity,” says Khadija Al Bastaki, Executive Director of d3. “As the world continues to face unprecedented changes, it is important to stay ahead of the game and by rethinking what has been done before, we will be able to conceptualise and build more robust economies that can withstand the test of time.”
Visitors can enjoy the exhibition which features classic cars, striking installations, art exhibitions, free workshops from Tashkeel and fashion pop-ups. A special culinary tour will also be available, providing discounted menus with modern Emirati restaurant Smat, Italian street food at Vicolo and wellness-inspired coffee and cakes with Anamoia Café.Showcasing design in a new light, Rethink the Regular celebrates the diversity of talent in the region’s bustling creative hub.

“As we head towards a future where health, safety and sustainability are of utmost importance, designers will play a key role in the creation of more resilient and resourceful societies because it breaks down the barriers of imagination and creates positive change,” adds Khadija.
