Museum Of The Moon Is Making Its Way To Dubai For Eid al-Adha

The travelling exhibit will light up the emirate with its large-scale celestial sculpture

With the sighting of the moon intrinsic to Eid celebrations, its only fitting that Museum of the Moon is returning to Dubai during the Eid Al Adha break.

The captivating installation, created by esteemed artist and sculptor, Luke Jerram, features a five metre accurate replica of the moon, developed by fusing imagery from detailed NASA pictures of the lunar surface.

Renowned the world over for its illuminating sculpture, the exhibition has travelled to over 30 countries, including England, India, Belgium, and Australia, and was a resounding success when it made an appearance in the UAE in 2023.

The interactive exhibit will also include engaging activities for the whole family to enjoy, including finding out what your weight would be on the moon, an immersive sand art lightbox, and more.

The artist, Luke Jerram, has an affinity for astronomy, and is known for his large-scale sculptures of celestial bodies. His latest exhibit, Gaia, is currently displaying in Austria, and presents a three-dimensional representation of the globe, featuring detailed NASA images of the Earth’s surface and is 1.8 million times smaller than Earth in real life.
