TeamLab Borderless Museum Is Coming To Jeddah’s Historic District

It will be the first time the immersive collective exhibition will be showing in the region

Saudi Arabia isn’t just making waves in sports, dining, and entertainment — it’s also diving into cultural enhancement with gusto, paying homage to its rich history and enhancing it’s art scene.

Enter teamLab Borderless Jeddah, the kingdom’s exciting new museum project, backed by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and the art collective teamLab. Nestled by the picturesque Alarbaeen Lagoon, this museum promises not just immersive digital pieces but also panoramic views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jeddah Historic District. Set to open its doors in the summer of 2024, this new attraction is promising to take visitors on a cultural journey.

TeamLab Borderless Is Coming To Jeddah: Experiences To Look Forward To

The museum will span approximately 10,000 square metres in floor area, and include the Borderless World, Athletics Forest, Future Park, Forest of Lamps, as well as En Tea House. Exhibiting some 80 independent yet intricately interrelated works, the collection promises an art experience without boundaries.

According to a report by Design Boom, the Athletics Forest is a creative space based on the idea that the world needs to be understood through the body, and that all three dimensions need to be considered when we observe our surroundings.

Whereas, the teamLab Future Park is an experimental educational project based on the concept of collaborative creation. It’s an amusement park where visitors will engage in building the world with others.

The tea house is also no less than an art exhibit. Hot beverages served there will feature an infinitely blooming flower – representing the ever-expanding world while simultaneously showcasing a stunning floral display.
