Cairo Film Festival 2022: Best Red Carpet Looks

From Tara Emad to Passant Shawky, Bazaar Arabia rounds up the most impressive fashion of the night…

The annual Cairo Film Festival held in the Cairo Opera House was established in 1976 and has continued to push on its legacy each year – this year being its 44th edition. Notably, the event is only one out of 15 film festivals to be given the prestigious A status granted by the International Federation of Film Producers Association. It has then continued to be one of the oldest and most anticipated annual events in the MENA region.

The 44th edition of the renowned film festival commenced on November 13 and rolled out the red carpet for some of the industry’s most famed and distinguished actors and actresses.

From Tara Emad in a statement Chanel ensemble to Nelly Karim in a regal red attire, Bazaar Arabia shares some of the best dresses attendees from this year’s Cairo Film Festival…

Nelly Karim and Hisham Ashour

The Egyptian-Russian actress, singer and model stepped out onto the red carpet with her husband, Hisham Ashour – an Egyptian professional squash player. The pair looked nothing short of glamorous with Nelly opting for a red dress designed by Egyptian designer, Nour Azazy.

The Egyptian model, actress and Bazaar Arabia cover star is best known for her starring in both the Arabic Drama/Thriller; Diamond Dust and the Arabic adaptation of the TV Series Suits, where she played Laila Radwan. She attended the event wearing a head-to-toe Chanel outfit paired with elegant accessories, one of our favourites.

Carmen Bsaibes

The Lebanese actress and Bazaar Arabia cover star rose to fame in 2011 with her starring in the Egyptian drama, The University and has since starred in a variety of movies and TV series such as the Egyptian crime series The Knower. The social media sensation stepped out in a stunning dress designed by Lebanese designer – Elie Saab.

Passant Shawky

The Egyptian actress studied Business Administration in America as well as travelling to Argentina to participate in the Egyptian TV program Fear Factor Xtreme Show before starting her acting career in 2011. Since then the actress has starred in a variety of Egyptian TV series/movies such as Family Secrets and Certified Mail. And this week, Passant stepped onto the red carpet in an iconic black dress designed by Lebanese designer – MÔNOT.

Salma Abu Deif

The actress and UN Aid Ambassador began her acting career at just twenty years old and has since then worked with some of the most renowned brands in the industry such as Maison Valentino, Bulgari, Chaumet and Tiffany & Co. The actress stunned with a black corset and skirt both designed by Egyptian designer, Marmar Halim.

Huda El Mufti

The famed Egyptian actress and Bazaar Arabia cover star rose to fame immediately after her role in the TV Show Haza Al Masaa (This Evening) in Ramadan 2017 – Huda has since then gone on to star in a variety of Egyptian TV Series such as Kira & El Gin and the Arabic adaptation of Suits. The actress looked ready for business in a blazer dress designed by YSL.
