How Did Zendaya React To Law Roach’s Retirement? Bazaar Arabia shares everything you need to know…
In a tell-all interview with Emily Ratajkowski on her podcast HighLow with EmRata, Law Roach continues to shed light on his recent decision to retire that shook the fashion industry. The style icon talked about his journey in the industry, his rise to fame, and the experiences that led to his untimely retirement in the fifty-four-minute-long podcast episode released on March 21.
The self-proclaimed image architect talked about how he created a carefully-constructed mirage of himself to the outside world where he appeared to be happier than he actually was.
“The last couple of weeks, I realised that I was unhappy, ” Law recollected, when Emily asked him how the false image of happiness and perfection led the public to believe that the celebrity stylist had it all. “It’s not as fabulous as you think it is, from the outside looking in, our world is perfect, right, but it’s made to look perfect,” he said.
“I lost a lot of friends,” said Law, while looking back at his whirlwind of a career in the nine years he’s been in the industry.
How Did Zendaya React To Law Roach’s Retirement?
Touching on the topic of breaking the news to Zendaya, his number one muse who he has been working with for eleven years, the stylist regretted not informing her about his decision sooner as he posted on Instagram before talking to her. “It was tough for her,” Law said.
Zendaya was just as shocked as the rest of us, it seems. “I thought we’d make big decisions together,” she told him when she found out. Although, it appears like she was extremely supportive of his decision. “Do you need me to send you on vacation? Tell me what you’re going through,” she asked Law with concern.
“Whatever you need,” said the stylist’s muse when he told her that he had been unhappy for a really long time and was still grieving the untimely death of his nephew.
“That wasn’t fair to her,” Law said while denying the allegations that Zendaya was, in any way, responsible for his retirement. “She has always protected me in this industry and vice versa,” he fondly recalled.
He said that the viral clip of himself at the Louis Vuitton A/W 2023 show was taken out of context and didn’t represent the reality of the situation which implied that Law was upset. “Those fashion shows are, they look really glam, but they can be such a mess,” agreed EmRata, who has walked the runway for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Miu Miu, and more.
