Since starring as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian in 2008 and most recently as The Darkling in the fantasy series, Shadow and Bone, it turns out that even 14 years later, this British actor is still a total heartthrob.
Hilariously, since Shadow and Bone premiered on April 23, 2021, fans of the TV series have flocked to no other than TikTok to reminisce on their childhood crush. The series itself was developed by Eric Heisserer for Netflix and is based on two book series written by Leigh Bardugo, the Shadow and Bone trilogy and The Six of Crows duology.
In a nutshell, the TV series follows the story of a young Alina Starkov, an orphan and cartographer for the Ravka nation’s First Army. After discovering she is Grisha (someone with special gifts), Alina is sent to join Ravka’s Second Army which is led by General Kirigan otherwise known as The Darkling who is portrayed by no other than Ben Barnes himself.
The British actor and singer is best known for not only his role as Prince Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia (2008-2010) and The Darkling in Shadow and Bone (2021-) but as Logan Delos in West World (2016-2020) and Billy Russo/Jigsaw in the Marvel series, The Punisher (2017-2019).
Who Has Ben Barnes Dated?
As expected, Ben is incredibly secretive when it comes to his dating life, although according to Hollywood Life, the actor has been linked to fellow British actress; Tamsin Egerton back in 2009 as well as Oscar-nominated actress; Felicity Jones in 2014 and Dancing with the Stars champion, Julianne Hough in 2020.
As most on-screen relationships go, both Ben and Shadow and Bone co-star, Jessie Mei Li have been relentlessly ‘shipped’ together online by enthusiastic fans. Unfortunately, rumours that the pair were dating were quickly squashed by Ben himself after a source obtained by E! Online told the publication the co-stars “have been friends for eight years,” and added there was “nothing more” to the relationship.
