Sonam Kapoor Ahuja Reveals Her Baby Boy’s Name
The Bollywood star took to Instagram to share the good news along with the meaning behind her son’s name
If you were watching with bated breath to find out what new celebrity parents Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are naming their new-born son, then you’re not the only one and in good news for all of us, the wait is finally over.
The 37-year-old Bollywood actress, who gave birth to her first child with her hubby, Anand Ahuja, on August 20, shared last evening that the pair have christened their first child Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, alongside a sweet photograph she posted on her Instagram page. The happy couple can be seen cradling the baby wrapped in a blanket, wearing traditional Indian attire in similar gorgeous shades of sunshine yellow.
“In the spirit of all that is sacred, life-giving and eternally ours, we seek blessings for our son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja,” Sonam wrote within the caption.
Fellow celebrity friends, family and netizens are sending well-wishes filled with love and joy to the baby boy. “Congratulations to your beautiful little family! So happy for you all ❤️,” commented actress Shibani Dandekar-Akhtar; “That’s a beautiful name. God bless ?,” wrote Malaika Arora.
The former Bazaar Arabia cover star also revealed the deeper meaning behind the name and why they chose it for their child, explaining that according to ancient Hindu scriptures, Vayu is the god of the winds and the deity of breath, possessing the ability to breathe new life into beings.

Sonam first announced the news of her pregnancy in March of this year, with a series of beautiful photos taken with her husband. She wrote a heartfelt message to her then un-born child, expressing her excitement and anticipation to welcome the little one into the world.
