Wedding season is officially in full swing! Here, Bazaar shares an insider’s glimpse into the most lavish nuptials of the season thus far…

Wedding season has taken over the Arab world, turning into some of the most lavish and extravagant affairs we’ve ever seen. During the past few weeks many vows have been exchanged and happy tears were shed but, most importantly, the parties and festivities have not stopped.

Here, Bazaar shares with you everything you need to know about the most luxurious Arab wedding celebrations that took place throughout the month of May.

Nour El Morshedy and Amir Abdel Wahab

Just a few days ago Nour Morshedy, owner and CEO of Memmar el Morshedy, one of the largest real estate establishments in Egypt wed Amir Abdel Wahab, co-founder and co-CEO of Core Egypt.

The high level of intricacy, sophisticated décor and luxury set-up of this ceremony left people talking about it for days on social media. After only 3 months of preparation, Al-Morshedy Palace was built in Katameya heights, where the mega-wedding was hosted.

Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay were brought to the heart of Cairo for this one-of-a-kind wedding celebration. The contrast between the floor to ceiling flower arrangements, crystal chandeliers and the array of colourful spotlights made for the most unique ambience for guests.

The bride looked radiant in a mermaid-style dress by Michael Cinco, make-up by Kiki Beauté Boutique and hair by Toni Issa.

This lavish ceremony witnessed the presence of a number of celebrities, officials, political and artistic public figures in Egypt; among the attendees were Mohamed Hadid, Ahmed Abo Hashima, Laila Elwi and others. The surprises kept on rolling throughout the event with performances from Ragheb Alama, Nancy Ajram and Tamer Hosni.

Aly El Gamil and Layla Al-Debs

Elevating your standards of style to a new locale is Aly El Gamil’s wedding ceremony hosted in El Gouna, Egypt. The businessman and entrepreneur recently tied the knot to Layla, daughter of Syrian parliament member Samer al-Debs, in a luxurious three day wedding.

Day One was a “Love Wild Ocean Child” theme to start the weekend celebration, hosted by Casa Cook resort; Day Two was a “Love Story” hosted by Gouna Culture Center; and last but not the least was Day Three’s “Wild, Free and Under the Sea” hosted by Rihanna Beach El Gouna.

The bride looked stunning in an elegant dress by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, make-up by Bassam Fattouh and hair by Wassim Morcos.

The wedding was attended by Egypt’s crème de la crème including Yasmine Sabri, Yousra, Nelly Karim, Ghada Adel and many more. Finally, Amr Diab stole the show with an outstanding performance to congratulate the bride and groom.

Tony Issa and Amuna Eid

The Lebanese actor Tony Issa has just married Amuna Eid in a beautiful beach wedding hosted at a venue that offered breath-taking views of the coastline.

Amuna made her appearance in a breathtaking princess gown designed by Reem Kachmar Couture, make-up by Jihane Raidy and hair by Victor Keyrouz.

The contrast between the blue and white center pieces accompanied by the carefully placed under the sea themed props created the perfect fairy ambiance for guests.

The magical wedding was attended by a number of A-list celebrities and fashion icons including Jessy Abdo and Dalida Khalil. Joining the intimate celebration was an array of the bride and groom’s close friends and family making it that much more special.

Abeya El Shimy and Omar Magdy

The Egyptian director Kamla Abo Zekri celebrated her daughter Abeya’s wedding last weekend in a special ceremony held at El Gouna Tourist Resort in Egypt.

The bride stunned in a long sleeve off-the-shoulder glistening gown and was accompanied by her bridesmaids that made their appearance in canary yellow dresses.

The extravagant celebration took place along the coastline of the Red Sea during the day. This wedding was attended by many celebrities including Dorra Zarrouk and husband Hani Saad, Nelly Karim, Hala Sedky, Asser Yassin and many more.

While these celebrations left us in utter disbelief, completely transforming our understanding of luxury, wedding season is not over yet.
