Congratulations are in order for singer and actress Ashanti and her longtime sweetheart Nelly as the happy couple are now expecting to have their first child together.
The Grammy award winning singer-songwriter expressed her delight to be a first-time mum with Essence Magazine yesterday. Ashanti looks forward to entering motherhood and sharing moments of joy with her loved ones and her devoted fans.

Ashanti and Nelly are now engaged!
Wedding bells are near for the expecting couple as they also share the exciting news of their engagement. A romance that’s been in bloom since 2003, Ashanti is beyond ecstatic to be engaged to her longtime love, rapper and singer Nelly.
As their love blossomed during the early stages of both of their music careers, the couple eventually went on their own separate ways in 2013. But now older and wiser, Ashanti and Nelly rekindled their romance that is now mature than the young love they once shared.
The couple is now set to enter not only one but two new chapters of their life together as they take a step forward towards parenthood and matrimony. Though it might be hectic balancing wedding preparations with a baby on the way, Ashanti and Nelly can make it through with each other by their side.
When is Ashanti Due?
The good news was revealed yesterday as Ashanti and Nelly confirmed the pregnancy via Instagram.
Most women don’t announce their pregnancy until the first trimester is over; therefore it is likely Ashanti is at least three to six months along, meaning the baby could arrive any time between June through to September.
