The International Indian Film Academy Awards, commonly known as IIFA, is one of the most prestigious film award ceremonies in the Indian film industry. Established in 2000, it aims to honour excellence in Indian cinema and celebrate the achievements of actors, filmmakers, and technicians.
This year the 2023 IIFA took place at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and included an array of Bollywood stars in attendance. From Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez to Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Bachchan, this year’s guest list was surely one to look out for.
However, fans wonder why award-winning star Deepika Padukone did not fly to Abu Dhabi for the prestigious two-day awards ceremony. The Piku actor has been absent from several global events like the Met Gala and Cannes Film Festival.
