Why Did Deepika Padukone Not Attend The Met Gala?
Deepika Padukone made her Met Gala debut in 2017 when she was filming her first Hollywood movie with Vin Diesel, XXX: Return of Xander Cage. And last evening, the 2023 Met Gala took place in NYC, where celebrities from around the globe made their way to the historic monument in their best fashion ensembles.
From Alia Bhatt’s debut appearance in a white Prabal Gurung to award-winning artist Rihanna, who opted for a white silk faille dress with a 5-meter long train and oversized floral detailing by Maison Valentino, last night’s affair was nothing short of every fashion enthusiast’s dream come true.
However, fans were truly disappointed when they did not see award-winning Indian actor Deepika Padukone at the gala. While the star hadn’t confirmed whether or not she would be attending, many assumed that Deepika would be there alongside Alia and Isha Ambani.
Coincidentally, the Bajirao Mastani actor took to Instagram to share several behind-the-scenes moments of when she attended the Oscars. She mentions in the caption, “And the rest is history…#oscars. @theacademy.”
All of this leads to one question…

Deepika Padukone has not publicly disclosed why she did not attend the 2023 Met Gala. However, fans are truly disappointed.
