Why did Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn break up? While numerous news outlets have reported that the couple are no longer an item after 6 years of dating, Swifties are still finding it hard to believe that the award-winning singer-songwriter is single, seemingly clinging on to any hope that the pair are still an item – or, at least, that Taylor still loves him.
While Taylor nor Joe have commented on the rumours a source did reveal to People Magazine that the couple have”…had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together…” but, ultimately, the pair weren’t right for each other.
Neither Taylor nor Joe have publicaly commented on the break up rumours, which leaked over Easter weekend.
Joe was recently spotted attending Taylor’s Eras tour, although there are reports he wasn’t there on opening night.

But, back to the necklace.

Taylor was spotted out walking recently in New York City, wearing what appeared to be a necklace with a “J” in cursive writing — Joe’s first initial — leading fans to wonder whether or not the pair were officially over or, perhaps, if Taylor was sending a cryptic message to her fans… or Joe.
The necklace fans are referring to appears to be a Tiffany & Co. pendent that Taylor has been spotted wearing in the past, once at her best friend’s wedding and at the Reputation secret listening sessions.

Some internet sleuths, however, don’t believe it to be the same necklace as the one with Joe’s initial.

Who is Joe Alwyn?
While both Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift are masters at keeping their private life, well, private Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about her rumoured ex-beau…
He’s an actor.
Joe made his acting debut in a 2016 war drama, titled, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. He’s also seen in The Favourite and Mary Queen of Scots, and Taylor’s documentary Miss Americana. Joe is also set to star as Nick in the upcoming TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s popular novel Conversations with Friends.
He’s a fashion model – and has even posed alongside Gigi Hadid.
Joe has modelled for Prada and was the face of the brand’s “Ascension” collection in spring 2018.
Joe is the first person to hear Taylor’s new songs.
Taylor gave him a shoutout at the 2021 Grammy Awards, where her quarantine album ‘Folklore’ won Album of the Year. In her speech, Taylor gushed: “Joe, who is the first person that I sing every single song that I write,” and that she had “so much fun writing songs in quarantine” with Joe.
He’s co-written numerous Swift tracks on several albums, including Evermore and Folklore.
When the pair were together they were quite the productive songwriting duo. Joe was credited under his confirmed songwriting pseudonym: William Bowery on Evermore tracks “Champagne Problems” and “Coney Island,” and Folklore hit songs “Betty” and “Exile”.
Taylor Swift confirmed that Joe was in fact William Bowery on her Disney+ film “Folklore: The Long Pond Sessions.” In the film, Taylor says: “Joe plays piano beautifully and he’s always just playing and making things up and kinda just creating things.”
Numerous Songs Are Most Definitely About Joe.
True Swifties know that Taylor’s not shy to express her feelings through her music. The queen of breakup ballads and love songs opened up about her feelings for Alwyn in several tracks, most notably in “London Boy”. The lyrics clearly reference the longtime couple’s time spent together in Camden, Soho and Shoreditch.
