Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Saudi Founding Day
The star footballer took to Instagram to share how he celebrated the occasion
February 22nd was Saudi Founding Day, celebrating the Kingdom’s heritage and rich culture through various workshops, performances, and more. And, of course, a big part of the celebration was for many wearing the traditional dress.
Saudi’s newest star, Cristiano Ronaldo, who just moved to the Kingdom in January 2023 due to his switch to the football team Al-Nassr, also honoured his new home. The thirty-eight-year-old took to Instagram, posting a video where he can be seen wearing traditional Saudi attire and celebrating with his teammates. He captioned the post with the words, “Happy founding day to Saudi Arabia ?? Was a special experience to participate in the celebration at @alnassr_fc !”

All-Nassr posted a video on Twitter, showing several team members celebrating the holiday. Cristiano is wearing a traditional Saudi white thobe and drinking Saudi coffee and can later be seen wearing a navy blue daglah with gold details over the thobe.
The footballer and his teammates also partook in a traditional Ardah performance with swords and singing. Taking a look at the comments of both posts, it is evident, that many regional fans of Cristiano are happy to see him embracing the Saudi culture.
