Hotel facilities will soon be able to resume operations but at a reduced capacity

Hotels within Dubai have been issued a new set of guidelines, in order to ensure all safety and sanitization process are met in order to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The new rules, as listed by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, state that all employees must be tested for. the virus before reopening and be retested every 15 days.

Additionally, all hotels will be provided with infrared thermometer and thermal cameras to allow employee temperatures to be tested several times per working day. Guests or employees showing COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed to enter hotel facilities.

According to Gulf News, hotels must also leave a 24-hour gap between guests checking out and checking in to a specific hotel room. Other hotel facilities such as restaurants, gyms, swimming pools, beaches and cafes will resume operation at a reduced capacity. All customers and external guests will have their temperature checked upon arrival.

Additional updates to the guidelines include revised operating hours for restaurants and cafes (6:00 – 21:00); a maximum of four patrons per table (with at least 2.5 metres of social distancing between parties); and a complete sterilisation of menus after each use.
