Police patrols around the city urge the public to keep indoors, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19

On Monday evening, police patrols in Dubai could be spotted asking people to remain indoors as part of renewed measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Dubai Police have requested the public to comply with instructions by conducting social distancing, as per health and security authorities in the UAE. It was made clear that Dubai Police would be enforcing a zero tolerance policy and violators would be punishable under the law if they refused to comply with the new measures.

In their efforts to curb the coronavirus pandemic, the Dubai Police are also urging customers to resolve any queries through their smart channels. The services are available through the Dubai Police app, website or by calling 901.

The Dubai Police has called upon the public to comply with the instructions issued by competent health and security authorities, primarily limiting social contacts to ensure their safety and wellbeing.#StayAtHome pic.twitter.com/fM2nieWIr7

The majority of public spaces – such as malls and parks – have already been closed, and the most recent announcement is that Dubai airports have been closed to the travelling public. The government has requested all persons not working in essential services to stay at home, and has shut down most services that are not groceries or pharmacies.
