Dubai Royal Family Celebrate Epsom Derby Win
HH Shekh Mohammed commented that his daughter brought the luck
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, celebrated at the Epsom Derby surrounded by family, after watching Godolphin win as horse Masar raced to victory.
“This is what it is all about,” Sheikh Mohammed said, according to the Telegraph. “I am very happy that he has won today and very proud that the horse has come from Dubai. My daughter [Sheikha al Jalila] is here and she has brought all the luck.”
Jockey William Buick commented that this was “the be-all and end-all, the everything” of racing.
Masaar races to victory
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, posted a picture on Instagram and Twitter showing him sharing a hug with his father as they celebrated the win. He captioned the video: “Yesssss @hhshkmohd.”
