Passengers will be able to book tickets to destinations in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and more

As lockdown restrictions around the world start to ease up Emirates has announced it is now accepting bookings for flights from Dubai to twelve different Arab countries.

Starting July 1 the airline will resume flights to destinations in Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia. With a comprehensive exchange and return policy in place, customers have been informed that bookings aboard the carrier are still subject to change.

Speaking to Arabian Business, Emirates has noted that the situation remains “dynamic,” and that they aim to provide customers with “as much notice as possible should there be any changes.”

However, with travel restrictions remaining in some places and easing in others, the airline will continue to “closely monitor the situation as it evolves.” While the flights operating to the aforementioned countries are still functioning for the purposes of repatriation, Emirates hopes to resume their commercial offering as soon as they receive the government approvals required to do so.

Having commenced repatriation flights to cities in Europe and Australasia earlier in May, the addition of new Arab routes indicates the opening up of inter-GCC travel for the first time since the pandemic hit.
Return flights are now available for most destinations, across all new and existing routes, but passengers are required to apply for approval to return to the UAE.

Implementing a new set of onboard safety measures, Emirates now requires all passengers to wear face masks and gloves, while using antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer. All of which makes up the airlines free hygiene kits that are being handed to travelers upon check-in.
