Free movement will be allowed during the day, but only throughout specific hours

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been the most recent addition to the list of countries easing lockdown rules on citizens and residents

Businesses have reopened and the ban on movement has been eased, in order to reduce the economic toll. With the recommendation of health specialist a partial curfew will be followed, according to the official Saudi Press Agency.

Additionally, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued orders to “reinstate some economic activities, while observing health limits to mitigate [the burden] on citizens and residents.” A 24-hour lockdown will remain in Makkah, which has been hit hard by the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The new rules consist of a curfew from 9:00 to 17:00 starting on Sunday, April 26. From April 29 onwards, construction workers and contractors will be able to resume working. Cinemas, restaurants and salons will remain closed. The latest rules will be valid for two weeks and businesses will be closely monitored to ensure precautions are being followed.

On April 24 Dubai also eased restrictions by allowing residents to move around without a permit between the hours of 6:00 to 22:00. Furthermore, malls are open 10 hours a day and gatherings amongst relatives of up to five people are allowed. The emirate has informed Individuals must wear masks at all times.
