Back in May, Selena Gomez and Bill Murray sent the internet into overdrive when the pair were snapped on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet together to promote their zombie thriller The Dead Don’t Die. Murray was pictured whispering into Gomez’s ear, and the former Disney star took to Instagram posting a photo writing, “By the way, Bill Murray and I are getting married.”

A month later the actress, singer and face of Puma appeared on the The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to reveal the answer to the question on everyone’s lips.
“He was just saying dumb things,” the 27-year-old artist said. “He would just lean in and be like, ‘You look great tonight.’ And then he’d look back serious and be like, ‘Where are you from?’ And I would just sit there, and I’m trying to be poised. It was fine. That’s what he did with all the time. In press conferences, he’d try to hit me with things. Yeah, it’s just he’s fun. He’s a big kid.”
Of Gomez, Murray was equally as complimentary. “I really like [her]. She’s unusually bright. She’s kind and she’s natural,” the American comedian confessed in an interview to Vanity Fair. “I’m always pleased to find some kind of pop icon who I really like.”
The pair are yet to be seen publicly together since Cannes Film Festival, and they are most definitely not getting married, but here’s hoping Hollywood’s favourite new BFFs make another hilarious appearance soon.
