The UAE Is One Of The Safest Countries In The World For COVID-19

According to a recent report it beat out the likes of Canada and Hong Kong

As coronavirus cases around the world having been on a rise, governments are implementing necessary measures designed to reduce the spread of the virus. The UAE has been at the forefront when it comes to battling the novel coronavirus within its respective communities.

The nation was quick to announce and action a lockdown, and also implemented a national sterilization programme early on in the pandemic, a key initiative to boost public safety.

According to Arabian Business a report released by the Deep Knowledge Group, a consortium of commercial and non-profit organizations, the UAE ranks 11 behind the likes of New Zealand (which recently announced it is free from the virus) and South Korea, but ahead of Canada and Hong Kong on list of 100 countries.

The ranking was based on quarantine, government efficiency, monitoring, detection and health readiness of each country.

The number of cured cases within the UAE has risen to over 21,000 as the UAE tested over 2 million people for the virus in an attempt to track and trace all cases. Field hospitals throughout the country were also set up, in order to create more resources and beds to treat those who were affected by the virus.

All members of the public must wear masks when leaving their home and stringent social distancing rules have been put in place to reduce the spread of the virus.

According to the report the highest-risk regions include Sub-Saharan Africa and South America, while Cambodia, Laos and the Bahamas are considered the three most dangerous countries for the novel coronavirus.
