Do GCC Residents Need A Visa For Oman? Bazaar Arabia shares all the details about the new updates when it comes to traveling to the sultanate.
GCC residents who work in a commercial profession can now travel to Oman visa-free.
Members of the GCC and the countries eligible for this new rule would include the following six countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
In the past, GCC residents looking to enter Oman would have to apply for an e-visa online using the official government portal. The process would have to take place prior to travel.
According to Arabian Business, this new rule came in yesterday directly from Oman Airports. The Directorate General of Passports and Residence regarding the visa of residents of GCC countries confirmed the new law in a four-point statement that said:
- All residents of the GCC countries have the right to enter the Sultanate of Oman for all commercial professions.
- It is not required for people to come from their country of residence. For example, a resident of any GCC country is not required to arrive directly from that GCC country to avail this facility. It is permitted at any time and from any destination they arrive from.
- For the application of what is stated in items 1 and 2 above, it is required that the residence visa be valid in the GCC for a period of no less than three months.
- The above-mentioned procedures referred to are applied, taking into account the importance of following the policy of granting visas to restricted nationalities.
