Dubai Design Week Set To Make A Grand Comeback For Seventh Edition
The region’s largest design fair is back…
Welcoming design enthusiasts on 8 November 2021, Dubai Design Week is all set to make a thriving return to Dubai Design District (d3), with a purpose to celebrate craftsmanship and creativity.
Helmed under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) and member of Dubai Council – Dubai Design Week will showcase over 130 international and regional brands.

The in-person fair will feature various pop-ups, installations, talks and workshops, and will also include a free-to-attend programme with an exciting line-up of activities.
Crafted locally, The UAE Designer Exhibition 2.0 will reveal artworks by 25 emerging artists while The Marketplace will bring forward a collection of 80 handcrafted and responsibly sourced products made by the city’s best artisans, creatives and small businesses.

Dubai-based architect Ahmed El-Sharabassy’s Nature in Motion is the winning proposal for the 2021 Abwab commission, which responds to the theme of regenerative architecture and restorative design. The work explores Dubai’s constant developments and journey to global renown.
The pavilion will also host an exhibition titled Pulp Fashion curated by Bits to Atoms, a Beirut-based architecture and research firm which primarily focuses on the human impact on the planet.

There will be 15 installations and public interventions staged across d3 for people to experience in an open-air setting. The second edition of the MENA Grad show will showcase 50 social-impact innovation projects from the ingenious minds coming out of the region’s universities.
This year Dubai Design Week has also curated two programmes which will spotlight the future, over 50 talks and the 2040: d3 Architecture Exhibition. The talks will see regional and international leaders giving a glimpse of the latest innovations and trends in the global design scene, while the 2040: d3 Architecture Exhibition conceptualises what Dubai will look like in 20 years, as envisioned by five architecture companies.

Lastly, the six-day fair will support the design community in Lebanon – the Beirut Concept Store will feature works by 50 established and emerging designers, from tableware and furniture pieces to small gifts.
Dubai Design Week will run from 8 to 13 November 2021 at Dubai Design District.
