With restrictions around the region starting to ease, live performances will be making a comeback in full force. From Amr Diab to Najwa Karam, here’s a list of all the concerts and festivals not to be missed throughout the next few months…
For many of us summer is synonymous with spending time outdoors with friends and watching our favourite artists perform on stage, as we dance and sing along to our favourite songs. While Summer 2020 was a write-off when it came to live performances and events, this year is looking very different…
The United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have recently lifted their restrictions on events, in support of the Arabic music industry – and other countries may soon follow suit.
Syrian sensation Assala and Kuwaiti crooner Nabeel Shuail officially kick started the season by performing the first concert of Summer 2021 in Riyadh – one of the first live perfomances within the country since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They’ll soon be followed by Lebanese and Iraqi duo Najwa Karam and Majid Al Mohandis, who are set to perform in Saudi’s capital on this Friday, June 11 with a joint show to be hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh.
Turki Al Shikh, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, recently tweeted a query about whether or not Wael Kfoury would consider performing in the future – to which which Salem AL Hendi, Chief Executive Officer and Director at Rotana Holding responded writing, “hopefully in two weeks.” While there remains no official announcement, fans of the Lebanese artist can check back soon for more details.

In the UAE, Ragheb Alama announced he will be hosting two shows at the Dubai Opera on July 15 and 16.
Elsewhere in the region, the queen of sensation Elissa will be performing in Erbil, Iraq on June 25. The performance is set to take place in the Galaxy Hall.
While Egypt is hosting their very own singer and record producer Angham, one of the best selling female pop-artists. The singer is set to perform in the Cairo Opera House on July 1.
While the next few weeks are already looking quite busy for Arabic music lovers, venues are adhering to strict social distancing guidelines. In Saudi Arabia, for example all attendees must be fully vaccinated, keep a minimum distance of 1.5 metres apart between other concert goers and venues will be kept at 40 percent capacity.
