When is Blonde Coming to Netflix? Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know so far about the Marilyn Monroe biopic here.

With Spanish-Cuban actress and former Bond girl, Ana de Armas set to transform into Hollywood’s most recognisable face – Marilyn Monroe is coming back to screens with Netflix’s upcoming biopic, Blonde.

She gave us fashion, iconic movies and tales of romances that still find their way on peoples lips – a winning combination for cinema, making it no surprise why picturising Marilyn’s glamorous but tumultuous life from Norma Jeane Baker to becoming Hollywood’s blonde bombshell has long been a favourite for actresses and directors. However, Blonde aims to set itself apart from the rest. According to Netflix’s Queue, director Andrew Dominik has taken on this project as a way to explore the complex relationship between Norma and Marylin and dive in deep into the late actress’ psyche.

A film adaption of Blonde, a historical novel by Joyce Carol Oates that fictionalised Marilyn’s private life, we know the Netflix Original is going to portray Marilyn like we’ve never seen before.

Here, Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know so far about the upcoming biopic…

When is Blonde Coming to Netflix?

With a teaser for the biopic just released, Netflix announced that the film will be available on September 23, 2022 globally.

Who is part of the cast?

Adrien Brody is set to play Marilyn’s third husband, Arthur Miller; Bobby Cannavale will portray her second husband, Joe DiMaggio and Julianne Nicholson is taking on the role of her mother, Gladys Pearl Baker.

How authentic will the film be?

De Armas explained to Queue the rigorous process of analysing every image and video to better understand and emulate Marilyn, so we can expect certain scenes will try to be as authentic as they can to the late star. However, as the film is based off of a historical novel, it will also take some creative liberties for a darker depiction of her life.
