Classic elements like the iconic “R” for Regina George necklace, the Burn Book and Jingle Bell Rock Dance are intertwined with TikTok gossip confessionals, Instagram live streams and new trends set by the Queen of the plastics in this newest movie, which is described as not your mother’s Mean Girls.
Who is in the Mean Girls film?
The cast comprises actors from the Broadway play that premiered in 2017, also written by Tina Fey. The play garnered immense success, earning twelve nominations at the 72nd Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Renee Rapp, who assumed the role of Regina from 2019 until the show’s conclusion in 2020, seamlessly continues her character’s journey on the big screen. Australian actress Angourie Rice, known for her role in the Spider-Man trilogy alongside Tom Holland and Zendaya, steps into the shoes of Cady Heron. North Shore High School’s heart throb Aarpon Samuels will be played by The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Christopher Briney. To complete the film’s infamous love triangle.
Busy Phillips will play the forever cool mum, Mrs George, while The Office’s Jenna Fischer will play Cady’s mum, Mrs Heron. Mad Men’s Jon Hamm will take on the role of the ever-educational Coach Carr and will be joined by many other familiar faces to up this exciting cast.

Olivia Rodrigo, who also appeared on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, contributes her track Get Him Back!

The film is set for an international premiere on the 12th of January, 2024 by Paramount Pictures, and although not a Wednesday, we are sure any will be wearing pink to honour The Plastic’s code of conduct.
