ICD Brookfield Place’s Sky Suites Are Redefining The Traditional Office Experience

Gone are the days of utilitarian offices that compromise on atmosphere; ICD Brookfield Place’s Sky Suites is where art, design, and culture converge for optimised living and working

Situated on the 50th floor of the glass-clad Foster + Partners-designed ICD Brookfield Place, the Sky Suites confront conventional ideas of the workplace. The collection of 11 furnished private offices, conceived by Los Angeles-based Marmol Radziner, merges function with a highly curated yet calming aesthetic.

With a design ethos rooted in refined simplicity, minimalist interiors converse with the building’s, now iconic, sculptural exterior. High ceilings and expansive windows invite abundant natural light.

At the same time, a material palette of rich wood, polished stone, and soft textiles delivers a sophisticated welcome. “We wanted to break away from the sterile, impersonal office standard,” says Matt Jackson, Studio Director at Marmol Radziner, New York. “Instead, we established an environment that feels warm, vibrant and engaging, one that invites inhabitants to connect deeply with their surroundings.”

The meeting room is rich in walnut and mocha tones through the panelling and seating, which impart warmth and elegance

The suites, ranging from 900 to 1,200 square feet, are configured with six to nine workstations, a private meeting room, internal office, and pantry. The communal drawing room reveals sweeping 360-degree views of Dubai, an impressive backdrop for meetings or moments of ideation. Plush seating, tactile fabrics, and ambient lighting make the lounge area truly feel like an extension of home. It’s a place to pause and embrace spontaneous conversation. Here, the sculptural, undulating ceiling adds a sense of softness – offsetting clean, rectilinear forms.

Sky Suites extends the idea of work-life integration beyond the office itself, offering access to elite amenities, including two new dining concepts: Il Gattopardo and Bar des Prés on the 51st floor. The 52nd floor features smart technologies and state of the art conference facilities managed by an internationally recognised operator.

Set in the heart of Dubai’s financial district, DIFC – ICD Brookfield Place connects to a bustling plaza, linking to a network of international fitness and wellness centres, a selection of eateries, luxury retailers, local coffee shops, and an outpost of London’s The Arts Club.

Sweeping Dubai views and dynamic artwork amidst calming stylistic nuances – the Sky Suites merge work with wellness and a sense of peace

At the crux of ICD Brookfield Place’s identity is its commitment to the arts. As well as supporting emerging talent through commissions and exhibitions, their evolving collection of MENA (Middle East and North Africa) pieces is dotted throughout the building and exhibited in the Sky Suites. “Our curation spotlights contemporary Arab artists,” explains Malak Abu-Qaoud, Director of Arts and Events. “Works are selected for their narrative as much as visual appeal; they capture the region’s complex cultural stories and artistic trajectory.

Exceptional service lends itself to an elevated experience

Currently, the collection features works by established and emerging creatives, including Hazem Harb, Hashel Al Lamki, Ziad Al Najjar, Miramar Al Nayyar, and Malik Thomas Jalil. A highlight is Miramar Al Nayyar’s Cluster F, an installation composed of 96 interconnected pieces spread across Level 50. Produced during Miramar’s residency at ICD Brookfield Place in 2023, the work fuses elements of Jordanian desert-scapes with digital codes. “There’s a powerful dialogue between art and the architectural space,” Malak says. “The works we acquire don’t just decorate the walls; they invite reflection, prompting passersby to engage with broader social and cultural narratives.” Other standout pieces include Hazem Harb’s Borders are only in our minds #2, which charts themes of identity and displacement, presented alongside Rome, a rare self-portrait on loan from DIFC-based gallery Tabari Artspace.

The drawing room melds sleek finishes with homely charm

The benefits of living with art are well documented. At ICD Brookfield Place, the presence of art and design is centred on uplifting the human experience. Beyond these curated suites, the cultural programming – exhibitions, artist talks, and community gatherings – enriches daily experiences, reframing the office as a space where efficiency and artistry can coexist.
