Silestone’s Latest Collection Is An Ode To The Changing Colours Of The Sky

Cindy Crawford’s third campaign for Silestone by Cosentino features four new sky-inspired designs with environment-friendly manufacturing

Following a recent rebranding, Silestone by Cosentino, the celebrated hybrid mineral surface for architecture and design, has launched its second series worldwide. The Ethereal collection made a splashy debut with a major campaign featuring long-time supermodel, entrepreneur and international fashion icon, Cindy Crawford.

“Our partnership with Cindy Crawford has always highlighted the connection between the world of fashion and interior design and decoration,” says Eduardo Cosentino, CEO of Cosentino North America and Vice President of Global Sales. “This new campaign is a continuation of this goal, told in a unique way and through a truly captivating and visually stunning narrative.”

Ethereal Haze features a range of grey tones, an interplay of gradients which blend into calm neutrals

The marble-inspired series’ four colourways offer an artistic interpretation of the shifting, changing patterns in the sky — with deep fine veining against a white canvas, capturing the interplay of colour and light seen from dawn to nightfall.

The urban aesthetic of Ethereal Dusk showcases bluish-toned veining, inspired by the last moments of darkness before sunrise. Ethereal Haze features a range of grey tones, an interplay of gradients which blend into calm neutrals.

Golden and grey veining merges with a tinged white foundation in Ethereal Glow. Inspired by sunsets and igneous hues, this is an evolution of the acclaimed Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold. Ethereal Noctis has a tinged white foundation, broken up with short grey and black veins for contrast and depth.

The collection has made way for a myriad of design possibilities, combined with high-performance capabilities including stain, acid, shock, and scratch resistance. The engineered surfaces are ideal for applications ranging from backsplashes and countertops to wall cladding.

First launched in 2020, the pioneering HybriQ+ technology features a new production process underscoring Cosentino’s commitment to the environment – the circular economy and sustainable management. HybriQ+ has significantly reduced presence of crystalline silica in Silestone and instead, a new hybrid formulation of raw minerals with equal or better performance than quartz and materials of recycled origin is used.

The new composition gives Silestone a sustainable focus and new design sensibilities, including improved depth and translucency, with the same performance and look.

Silestone’s third and final campaign with Cindy Crawford, called ‘The Metamorphosis’, serves as an allegory of Silestone’s own transition and recent rebranding, including the development of its revolutionary HybriQ+ technology for the betterment of the planet.

The fashion mogul shines alongside the clever use of animation by creative genius Álex Román and extraordinary musical arrangements by composer Pilar Onares, recreating the dreamlike beauty of the sky.

To celebrate the launch of the brand-new Ethereal by Silestone collection by Cosentino Middle East, Harper’s Bazaar Interiors hosted a panel discussion called ‘The Art of Creation: Fashion Meets Design’ on 10 March 2022. Moderated by Editor Ayesha S.
