Just last week one of the region’s most notable creators shared some very exciting news with his fans. Posting a black-and-white photo clasping a woman’s hand, proudly showing off what one would presume to be engagement (or, even, perhaps wedding?) rings, Emirati content creator Khalid al Ameri revealed he was official off the market.
The news took the internet by surprise as fans turned to Reddit to speculate who his fiancée could be – but Khalid kept mum when it came to the details.
Regional creators and influencers were quick to share their well wishes in the comments, with many posting a quick congratulations but some followers had questions.
Khalid is best known for creating family friendly content, mostly focused on the region and travel, along with his ex-wife Salama Mohamed and their two children. Why did they split up? How long have they been apart?
Why Did Salama Mohamed and Khalid Al Ameri Get Divorced?
Days later a video was shared on Emirati presenter Nour Aldin’s YouTube channel. Salama had sat down with the creator to confirm she was divorced, but didn’t share much insight into the split apart from the fact that if happened this year. While she didn’t go into the exact reasons as to why it didn’t work out, she did share how she felt about Khalid.
She said, “[…] with my previous partner, he is the father of my kids, there’s always a connection there, maybe an ethereal connection. Maybe it’s the time that we spent together, I don’t exactly know. But in the end, his happiness affects my happiness. His success affects my success. His sadness affects my sadness. I always pray for him.”
“With all of my heart, I pray for him with love. With happiness because if he is happy, we are happy. At the end of the day, if he is happy, my kids would be happy. I don’t know if he reached the same stage of happiness as me,” she added.
“Sometimes divorce is merciful. I was reborn on that day,” she noted. Watch the full video below.
Khalid has not responded, nor posted or commented, on what Salama shared in the interview. Naturally, fans still have questions and many are wondering who his bride-to-be could potentially be.

Though many of Khalid’s fans have been wondering if his recent trips to India could point to any clues, the fact of the matter is he has consciously chosen to keep his new relationship on the down low.
