Who is Amna Al Qubaisi, The UAE’s First Female Racing Driver?
In the adrenaline-fueled world of motorsport, where the roar of engines and the scent of burning rubber reign supreme, a new trailblazer has emerged from the United Arab Emirates, shattering stereotypes and pushing the boundaries of gender equality.
Amna Al Qubaisi, a name that reverberates through the motorsport community, stands as a symbol of empowerment and determination. As the first female racing driver from the UAE, her journey is not just a testament to her exceptional skill behind the wheel but also a beacon of hope for aspiring female racers worldwide.
In addition to being an exceptional racing driver, Amna has recently been in the spotlight for her looks and style, proving that femininity can be a mixture of boldness, elegance, beauty and power at the same time. The Emirati racer and Bazaar Arabia’s former cover star recently collaborated with luxury Spanish brand LOEWE, promoting their new Cloudtilt shoe collection, made especially for those who are always on the move.
In honour of Amna’s achievements and her contributions to the Middle East, Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about the racing champion.
Who is Amna Al Qubaisi, The UAE’s First Female Racing Driver?
Amna started training in 2013, at the age of 14
Amna started her journey in racing by practicing through rental karts, followed by 2 years of professional karting. From 2018-2019, Amna participated in 2 seasons of Formula 4, a UAE based championship designed especially for junior racers, followed by 2 seasons of the Asian F3 Championships from 2021-2022. Amna is currently enrolled in the F1 Academy, an all-female championship founded by Formula One.
Amna has had several wins throughout the years
Amna had her first win at the Formula 4 UAE Championships, where she participated in 2 races in total. In April, Amna came in 1st in 1-out-of-3 races at the F1 Academy in Austria, earning her the 6th position in overall rankings.
Amna belongs to a family of competitive race car drivers
Amna’s passion for racing stems from her father Khaled Al Qubaisi who has previously participated in the prestigious F3 Asian Championships, and most recently in the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship.
Amna’s younger sister Hamda Al Qubaisi also takes after her father and is equally as competitive as Amna, becoming the first woman in Italian F4 history to score a podium, at just 19 years old in June 2021.
Amna has collaborated with several local and global big brands
Amna has partnered up with and released ad campaigns for several big brands, including Dyson, L’Oréal and Motorola. In August, Samsung had released a special collaboration with the Emirati racer, featuring a collection of devices with exclusive artwork inspired by Amna’s journey.
Winning championship trophies is just one of Amna’s hobbies
In addition to racing, Anma loves to travel and often goes on trips around Europe with her sister Hamda. Keeping herself active, Amna likes to go horse riding and bicycling.
