News of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa’s daughter’s arrival was shared with the world on Saturday morning
Congratulations are in order for Crown Prince Al Hussein and Princess Rajwa. On Saturday morning Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan shared that the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Princess Iman bint Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The Royal Hashemite court shared the following statement on Saturday morning:
The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein were blessed, on 3 August 2024, with a baby girl they named Iman.
While no other details were shared with members of the public its clear Jordan’s royal family is delighted with the news.
News of the little one’s arrival was announced on The King of Jordan’s official social media channels.
“Praise be to God who gave us our first granddaughter, Iman bint Al-Hussein,” the posts read in Arabic. “I congratulate Al-Hussein and Rajwa on their newborn baby. We ask God to give her good growth and protect her for her parents.”

The Special Meaning Behind Iman bint al-Hussein’s Name
In Arabic, the name Iman means faith or recognition.
While the royal couple have not shared any insight into their choice of name, it’s worth noting that Crown Prince Al Hussein is very close with his young sister, Princess Iman bint Abdullah. His Royal Highness even acted as her escort during her wedding last year to Jameel Alexander Thermiótis.
So, was HRH Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa’s daughter named after Princess Iman? While there’s been no confirmation, there’s a chance it could be a special nod to her aunt — who must be thrilled with having a little niece to spoil.
