The Special Meaning Behind HRH Princess Iman bint Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s Name
In Arabic, the name Iman translates to faith or belief.
While the royal couple have not shared any insight into their choice of name, it’s worth noting that Crown Prince Al Hussein is very close with his young sister, Princess Iman bint Abdullah. His Royal Highness even acted as her escort during her wedding last year to Jameel Alexander Thermiotis.

Princess Iman bint Al Hussein I
The Crown Prince’s sister was actually named in honour of her aunt, King Abdullah II of Jordan’s sister Princess Iman bint Al Hussein I. Princess Iman bint Al Hussein, the daughter of the late King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan may have been the source of inspiration for King Abdullah and Queen Rania’s first born daughter’s name.
King Abdullah II appears to be close with his younger sister, acting as a witness when she married businessman Zaid Azmi Mirza.

So it appears there is a tradition in the Jordanian royal family of naming daughters after their sisters.
