How To Get Sheikha Mahra’s Bridal Make-Up Look: A Step-By-Step Guide By Nina Ubhi…
Earlier this year, the Al Maktoum family — the ruling family of Dubai in the UAE — hosted the wedding of Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to Sheikh Mana Al Maktoum. Pictures and video clips of the ceremony were widely shared on social media platforms showcasing the luxurious decorations that adorned the Saeed Hall at the Dubai World Trade Center.
On her special day, the beautiful bride looked absolutely radiant in an embroidered dress crafted by Dubai-based designer Ezra Couture. She complemented her attire with exquisite diamond jewellery and a diamond watch by Chopard.

Her Highness also chose to leave her long hair flowing, adorning it with an embroidered veil. Her make-up was artfully applied by Somayh Aljanahi; Sheikha Mahra opted for her signature smokey eye and a natural nude lip.
After viewing the official photos, beauty enthusiasts naturally had several questions in mind regarding the Dubai royal’s on-point make-up during the happy occasion. What products were used? Any tips for looking continuously fresh throughout the day? To name a few.
How To Get Sheikha Mahra’s Bridal Make-Up Look: A Step-By-Step Guide
Harper’s Bazaar Arabia speaks to Dubai-based make-up artist Nina Ubhi on how to achieve HH Sheikha Mahra’s bridal beauty look, in an easy step-by-step guide.

“Sheikha Mahra’s bridal make-up was a flawless soft matte look, so using the right type of products is just as important as your technique,” says Nina.
1. Skin prep is just as essential to creating a soft mat look that will last all day, so it’s best to start with hydrating skincare so your skin doesn’t dry out throughout the day. My current favourite is the Rhode skincare range because it’s ultra calming for the skin as well as hydrating.
2. Use a primer like the Hourglass Airbrush Primer to create a smooth finish ready for your make-up application.
3. I would suggest creating your eye look first before we finish with your base. This ensures your base will be completely flawless once the full look is finished. Apply concealer to your eyelids and buff in using a sponge. With a setting powder such as the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Setting Powder. Using a powder puff press the powder onto the eyelids and then dust off with a medium-sized brush such as the Real Techniques one.

4. As much as this smoky eye may look like it’s difficult it’s actually really easy to do using the right products. You’re going to need three different shades of the Nudestix magnetic colour pencil. Use the shade fig in your socket line and plants with a fluff brush. Use the shade moon on the inner part of your eyelids and use your finger to patch the edges so that it blends into the first colour you applied. Use the shade smoke on the upper and lower lash line and buff using a pencil brush. Finish with a set of false lashes or a lengthening mascara, such as the Benefit Fan Fest mascara.

5. Underpainting is going to work perfectly for this soft, matte flawless base, so we’re going to start with applying concealer to the under eyes and corners of the mouth. Use a damp sponge to buff the concealer in. Now, use a sculpting stick such as the Makeup by Mario soft sculpt on the hollows of your cheekbones and beneath your jawline. Blend this all in using a sponge or brush. Use a foundation and apply a small amount to the back of your hand. Using a sponge, buff the product into it and then apply it all over your face. Using your setting powder and a powder puff press the powder onto the under eyes, then dust off with a setting brush. Dust some powder onto the rest of the face and finish with some blush on the upper cheekbones.
6. Shape your brows with a stay-put pencil such as the Benefit precisely My Brow Pencil.
7. Use a lip pencil such as the Charlotte Tilbury lip cheat in the iconic nude to line. And finish off your look with Charlotte Tilbury’s lipstick in the shade catwalk.
