Why Meghan Markle Won’t Be Attending Prince Philip’s Funeral
According to a source close to the Duchess of Sussex, doctors advised her not to travel as she is due early this summer…
After the British Royal Family announced Prince Philip’s passing last week it was expected that Prince Harry would be attending his late grandfather’s funeral, but all eyes seemed to be on whether Meghan was going to join him or not.
After seeing Prince Harry land in the U.K. earlier this week, sans famille, questions were raised regarding Meghan’s absence….
A source close to the couple set the sotyr straight by sharing that Meghan wanted to be at Prince Philip’s funeral were it not for her pregnancy, regardless of any lingering tension between her and the Royal Family.
“Meghan wishes she could have flown to the U.K. to support her husband but has been advised not to due to her pregnancy,” a source close to the Duchess of Sussex shared with E! News.
The source added that even though they “are still not on amazing terms with the family”, Meghan would have put all tensions aside to be during this difficult time with Harry and give the family their condolences in person.
Although the couple seem to be living a tranquil life in California after moving to the United States earlier last year, a source close to Prince Harry shared with US Weekly that he would have preferred to have Meghan by his side, as he’s very worried about leaving his pregnant wife alone.
“He’s already really missing Meghan and Archie and has been FaceTiming them every day to check in. He actually speaks to Meghan a few times a day because he worries about leaving her when she’s so far along in her pregnancy”, the source revealed to US Weekly.
According to the E! News insider, Harry doesn’t want his wife to be involved in stressful situations during her pregnancy.
Be reminded that Meghan suffered a miscarriage last summer, as she shared earlier last month on the couple’s interview with Oprah, which could be the reason behind Harry’s concern with his pregnant wife during this time.
