In an enthusiastic display of national pride Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa was at the forefront of Bahrain’s celebrations as the nation secured a historical first gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, making Winfred Yavi only the third athlete to win a gold for Bahrain at the Olympics.
The young royal’s enthusiasm was palpable as he cheered on Team Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi during the women’s 3,000 meters hurdles competition, making her the second behind Ruth Jebet at Rio 2016 to claim the women’s crown.

Sheikh Abdullah was not alone in this momentous occasion. He was joined by his father, His Highness Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his older brother, Sheikh Faisal bin Khalid Al Khalifa, both equally vested in supporting the nation’s athletes.
