The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be hosting its first-ever FIFA World Cup tournament this year in December 2023 from the 12th to the 20th.
Saudi Arabia’s sports minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal also took to Instagram to share the exciting news mentioning in the caption, “Honored & excited to warmly welcome the world’s leading football clubs and all fans to Saudi Arabia in December 12-20 for the FIFA #ClubWC. Our love for the game has no limits, and our journey of transformation in football and progress as a country continues.”
According to Gulf News, The FIFA Council voted for the Kingdom to host the event in an official conference yesterday. With all parties unanimously voting for this decision.
After previously hosting several key sporting events like the Riyadh Grand Prix, Races, Spanish Super Cup, and others, the upcoming tournament taking place this year will be the sixth since its launch in 2000, making this a huge moment for the region.
Yesterday’s meeting also reconfirmed that the United States, Mexico, and Canada will be join-hosts of the highly-anticipated 2026 World Cup tournament.
