Flying To The US? These New Security Checks May Cause You Delays

Emirates Airline has released the new US government guidelines

If you’re travelling stateside anytime soon you might want to head to the airport a little earlier than usual as the US have just outlined updated security measures for all passengers travelling from Dubai to America.

According to the airline: “The new directive requires passenger pre-screening interviews at the check-in counter for originating passengers and at the boarding gate for transfer and transit passengers. These measures will work with the current additional screening measures conducted at the boarding gate, including those for electronic devices. Passengers should allow additional time to be checked-in and boarded if travelling to the US from Dubai International Airport.”

Effective from today, Emirates appears to be the only regional carrier affected so far by the news according to The National as Etihad has said they have not received any new guidelines. If you’re don’t want to get stuck in any unnecessary queues, the US customs border clearance gate at Abu Dhabi International Airport is continuing operations as normal with no extra delays expected.

Bon voyage!
