Escaping With Yasmine Sabri To The Luxe Maldivian One&Only Reethi Rah Resort
Egyptian film star Yasmine Sabri shares her effortless vacation style tips fit for a tropical island getaway
When Yasmine Sabri hung up her Louboutins for some much-needed time out in the Maldives One&Only Reethi Rah resort, we were keen to discover what a movie star’s idea of island essentials are.
The Egyptian actress revealed her must- pack pieces for relaxing amid the crystal-blue lagoons and endless white sandy beaches, with absolutely no red-carpet gowns in sight.
“When I’m travelling, I focus on the destination and not so much on the fashion,” Yasmine told Bazaar as she wafted around barefoot in a yellow floral-print dress she picked up on a recent trip to California. “But of course, that doesn’t stop me packing a few pretty things to wear for the evening – mostly dresses that are perfect for island living.”
For most of us, a trip to paradise would involve whiling away the hours on a sumptuous cabana with our nose in a good novel. But for Yasmine, this break meant more time on her yoga mat. “Yoga is not just a workout, but a way of life for me. I practice every day when I’m on holiday so I’m never without my Nike yoga kit,” she tells us. “The resort setting was so stunning that I found myself spending hours working on my moves and meditating to the sound of the lapping waves in the distance.”
No trip to the Maldives, however, is complete without catching a few rays at the pool, so floaty pieces in lightweight fabrics are a must, especially with temperatures reaching 30°C during the spring months. “For the beach or pool I tend to opt for long sleeves and loose-fit cover-ups in tropical prints,” says the star. “They’re the perfect choice for the Maldives.”
