Residents from the region can look forward to the many festivals in the Islamic calendar, one of which is Eid al-Fitr, the first celebration to begin after the holy month of Ramadan, which commenced on March 22 this year.
With all of the Iftars and Suhoors in full swing, residents can’t help but wonder when the official Eid al-Fitr date is so they can start planning their weekend staycations and trips.
When Will Eid al-Fitr Long Weekend Start in the UAE?
Today, the Emirates Astronomical Society has shared its prediction that Eid Al Fitr is expected to occur on Friday, April 21. However, this date will only be confirmed after the moon’s positioning.
If this occurs, UAE nationals and residents can expect a four-day long weekend from Thursday, April 20 till through Sunday, April 23. UAE workers will be expected to return to work the following Monday, April 24.
