
Fashion Trust Arabia Reveals 2024 Award Finalists
The non-profit organisation has shortlisted 18 finalists this year, who will present their designs to a jury on October 24 for a chance to win one of six awards
With just over two months to go until the winners are announced, Fashion Trust Arabia has unveiled a list of this year’s finalists.
With HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser as honorary chair and co-chairs HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani and Tania Fares at the help, the non-profit organisation presents 18 emerging designers and creatives from the region that are up for an award across six different categories.
Returning for its 6th edition, the FTA awards celebrate and reward the efforts of emerging designers. The FTA 2024 Advisory Board has released this year’s eighteen finalists across various categories; Ready-to-Wear, Evening Wear, Jewellery, Accessories, Franca Sozzani Debut Talent, and Fashion Tech, with 3 nominees in each category.

Guest Country Entry: Spain
Additionally, the FTA board shortlisted four designers from Spain, which is the guest country at this year’s event.

The initiative of including a seventh award for a guest country brings in the invaluable chance for regional designers to establish global contacts and connections.
The winners will receive a funding grant cash prize between AED367,280 ($100,000) and AED734,560 ($200,000); the Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award will receive a grant of AED183,640 ($50,000).
As for learning experiences, all winners will receive a year-long mentorship with The Bicester Collection; a personally tailored mentorship from Maison De Mode on the importance of sustainability and ethical fashion practices; as well as a two-day mentorship course curated by the FTA itself, in collaboration with The Bicester Collection, Brand x Society, and the British Fashion Council.
Winners of the Evening Wear, Ready-to-Wear, Accessories and Jewellery prizes will have the opportunity to have their work displayed in Harrods’ for one season. The winner of the Ready-to-Wear category will also be offered an internship by Huntsman in London; the brand will make the designer’s collection available for purchase on their e-commerce platform.
The carefully selected finalists will present their work to FTA’s very own Jury in Marrakech on October 24, 2024 with seven winners announced during the awards ceremony later that evening.
