Christian Louboutin Is Getting Into Gaming – But It’s Not What You Think
The French fashion house – best known for their shoes with the red-lacquered soles – is teaming up with DREST, the world’s first interactive luxury styling game, to introduce the Nude Collection to luxury fashionista gaming fans
Christian Louboutin and gaming wouldn’t normally be associated with one and other, but that’s all about to change…
The French fashion house is teaming up with DREST to give fashion gamers the option of decking out their avatars in a pair of the brand’s Spring Summer 2020 Nude Collection pumps.
“I am so thrilled to be working with Christian on this exciting and positive collaboration. He is a true craftsman, a constant innovator and one of the fashion industry’s most charismatic and altruistic personalities, all of which have won him and his iconic brand legions of loyal admirers,” DREST Founder and CEO Lucy Yeomans said.
The gaming app will also be running two different challenges on the platform, dedicated specifically to Christian Louboutin. One will be a photoshoot challenge and the other will be a mood board challenge. Players who decide to participate will have their submissions reviewed by the designer himself. 10 individuals will then be selected to win a prize of 2,500 DREST dollars.
“I was excited when Lucy came to me to share her new project. It is very much in ‘l’air du temps’ and an interesting and cool way to give a wide and young audience an engaging experience with fashion,” designer Christian Louboutin said.
“I am very glad to be part of this new adventure, especially with a collection which has been so very dear to me for the last seven or eight years, advocating inclusiveness and diversity: The Nudes.”
“Our aim at DREST is to democratize the luxury fashion experience, and through this partnership, we are excited to be able to give people everywhere access to one of the world’s most desired and recognisable brands,” Lucy said.
“We chose to launch with the Christian Louboutin Spring Summer 2020 Nude Collection – a range that complements our inclusive DREST model line-up and also addresses the important and urgent need to establish a diverse world.”
Every nude shade within the collection will be available within the game, designed to perfectly compliment DREST’s diverse line-up of ‘models.’ Players will be able to style their models however they see fit.
Prior to launching the app Lucy was editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar UK and Net-a-Porter. The fashion gaming app was soft launched last year and has partnered with over 130 different labels including Burberry, Gucci, Prada, Stella McCartney and Valentino, to name a few.
You can download the app on both the iOS app store or Google Play store.
