H&M Teams Up With Sandra Mansour For Its First Collaboration With An Arab Designer
The Beirut-based designer, known for her dreamy yet daring aesthetic, will launch the ‘Fleur du Soleil’ collection in partnership with the high street retailer on August 27…
The Swedish high street label has announced its latest collaboration with the Lebanese designer, as the high street label and fashion house have teamed up to create a line that is youthful, bold and romantic.
Inspired by the beauty of nature and strong female artists such as Toyen, Dorothea Tanning, Bibi Zoghé and Lena Leclercq the ‘Fleur du Soleil’ collection features designs in a muted colour palette, with edgy detailing in the form of intricate embroidery.
“The inspiration for the H&M collaboration was nature and natural elements. Especially the sunflower, which represents the cycle of life, and its dependency on sun and light. Poetry and painters inspired the selection of fabric – the dark laces, jacquards, and embroidered organza, ” designer Sandra Mansour said.
“With the Fleur du Soleil collection, I want to talk to women around the world by sending a message of hope, something we really need right now,” she added.
The Sandra Mansour X H&M collaboration will feature a mix of both soft and strong pieces, ranging from printed t-shirts to flowing skirts, hoodies and much more.
In the past, the Swedish high street retailer has teamed up with the likes of Moschino, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, Alexander Wang, Balmain and other notable fashion houses, however, this will be the first time the retailer has worked with an Arab designer.
The collection will be available online and in stores from August 27.
